i ref your site suggestions/ nuts!           just get the gordon west element 2, 3, 4 or 8. no need for busting the brain. besides your 5 friends who just got their tech tickets, the gordon west would had prepared them much, much better minus the madness.  following those sites i would have never got my tech ticket.

Thank you.
Had a few friends to get their ticket Sat and the following is all they used.

Ham Academy 6.0
This is good stuff that coves all 3 classes with a offline testing system you can use on your PC.

For Extra Class Exam Study Materials

This study guide is very nice and complete.

Amateur Question Pools

For studying the theory behind all the electronics in this hobby I have the Navy NEETS books here.

This is all you need to study for your ticket no need in buying a CD or book to learn this.

The problem with studying the on line material for technician class license is, The test changes in June. The W5YI books are available. If you purchase a book, make sure it is the current one. Some places will sell the old books without telling you they are outdated. I talked to a person at W5YI and was told the older test will not be accepted. In my opinion, there is not sufficient time for most people to get the material and take the test in June. Of coarse some can. The General test will change in 2011 and the extra in 2012.

Good luck to all who are taking the test, both new and upgrade.

I spent a few hours on http://aa9pw.com/ taking the practice tests and passed the real Tech exam without breaking a sweat.  If you have been on CB for a few years, you already know most of the material.  I simply kept taking the practice exams until I memorized the answers to the questions that I was missing.

BTW,  I took the exam on a Saturday and was on the air by Wednesday afternoon.  You don't have to wait for your ticket to arrive in the mail any more.   As soon as it appears in the online FCC database, you're legal.

Y'all might be interested to know that just about all of my ham buddies use CB.  We spend as much time talking to each other on 11 meters as we do on HF or UHF.  CB is a gas  (been on it since the late 60's) but the ham bands are incredible.  You don't have to give one up to use the other.  Enjoy both!

I just got my tech and general last saturday. I used this site to study, it is up to date and has flash cards that will take you through all the possible questions on the test. I knew nothing about electrical circuits etc...and I passed, so you all can do it too.
